Designed specifically for Peugeot/BMW N18 engines, (Cooper S from 2011, JCW Cooper S from 2013, R58 Coupe from 2012, Peugeot 208 GTi from 2012, Peugeot 308 GTI, RCZ THP 156 & 200 2011 on).
This product is recommended when the turbo pressure has been increased by reprogramming, for those who want to have a big dump valve noise, or simply for more reliability compared to the fragile original components. The main known problem on the stock valve is a tear on the diaphragm that prevents the valve from opening fully. This does not always trigger the engine light to come on because the valve can be opened by turbo pressure. This is a very common problem. The other problem is that the stock spring cover is made of very thin plastic and becomes brittle with time, heat and oil, and eventually fails.
This prevents the diaphragm from sealing and also causes the problems outlined above. This failure can also cause the dump valve to break when the turbo is removed, and in rarer cases plastic components enter the turbo and destroy it.

The alternative Forge offers significantly increases reliability. Their valve is made entirely of aluminum and works with a piston (which does not break unlike the diaphragm), it replaces the original component with a pressure/vacuum operated piston that also retains the control of the stock ECU on the valve. This dump valve has been tested on VAG vehicles for many years. The spring is interchangeable for different turbo pressure levels, and the solenoid plugs directly into the included harness connector.
