The COMETIC MLX head gasket range is a multi-layer steel gasket range made of 3 to 5 stainless steel layers as the MLS, but has an extra fold over layer providing a torque limiting surface. Stainless steel increases the mechanical strength and the corrosion resistance. The outer layers are embossed and coated with VITON rubber to perfectly match the head and block shape and resist to very High temperatures. the inner layers are flat stainless-steel sheet that are used to calibrate the gasket thickness.
