Black Series - for use on the track and in motor sport
The products in the Black Series range are made from polyurethane. This is a specialised plastic that has been around for around thirty years. Advances have enabled this material to be endowed with special properties. Suspension parts are among the most highly stressed components on a car, and are subject to enormous stresses.
Originally, these parts were made from rubber containing products that deteriorate with age. Over time, the vehicle moves more and more and offers less and less control over the geometry of the suspension.
This leads to accelerated tyre wear, braking instability and poor roadholding.
The products in the Black Serie range stand out because they use Black 95A material, which is Powerflex's hardest material.
Powerflex therefore created the material to overcome these problems. They have developed a polyurethane compound that makes it possible to manufacture parts that are 25 to 30% stiffer than previous rubber products, while retaining exactly the same noise-absorbing properties.
