Forced induction (intake air compression) produces heat. The heat can reduce power, negating some of the benefits of forced induction. The incorporation of an intercooler greatly reduces the negative effects of high intake air temperatures. This universal FORGE range can provide the perfect solution for vehicles where no specific kit exists yet. A good starting point is to determine the physical space available to mount an intercooler and use the dimension tables to check what will fit. Then, by looking at the variations in type (position of connecting pipes, proposed diameters and type of fixing to the intercooler), decide how the pipes should be routed and connected. Consideration should also be given to how the intercooler will be fixed or mounted. In almost all cases, when using a universal intercooler, the installer must have an appropriate level of technical competence.
