OptiMate 2 DUO 12 V / 12.8 V Battery Charger – Lead-acid and Lithium

The OptiMate 2 DUO is an automatic battery charger designed for 12 V lead-acid batteries and 12.8 V or 13.2 V LiFePO4 lithium batteries.

Thanks to its adaptive program, it automatically recognizes the technology of the connected battery. No manual selection is required: simply plug in the battery charger to start its 5-step charging and maintenance program.

With its constant 2 A charging current, the OptiMate 2 DUO is particularly well-suited for race car batteries, as well as those in motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, jet skis, and other recreational vehicles. It can also remain connected for extended periods to maintain the battery at its optimal charge level, especially during winter storage or prolonged periods of inactivity.

Compatible with lead-acid and lithium batteries

The OptiMate 2 DUO supports the main 12-volt battery technologies used in motor vehicles:

• Conventional STD lead-acid batteries;
• AGM batteries;
• GEL batteries;
• EFB batteries;
• 12.8 V and 13.2 V LiFePO4 or LFP lithium batteries.

It is suitable for batteries with a capacity between 6 and 96 Ah and can recharge a battery up to 48 Ah in less than 24 hours, depending on its condition and discharge level.

The 5-stage charging program automatically monitors the battery’s condition, recharges it, and maintains it at full capacity.

The OptiMate 2 DUO begins its charging cycle at a battery voltage of 4 V. Once charging is complete, it automatically switches to maintenance mode to keep the battery in good condition without the risk of overcharging.

It can therefore remain connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without requiring special supervision.

The OptiMate 2 DUO features comprehensive protection for electronics for safe use in the vehicle.

In particular, it protects against:

• Short circuits;
• Reverse polarity or connection errors;
• Sparks;
• Overloads;
• Battery disconnection.

The charger automatically shuts off in the event of a short circuit or when the battery is disconnected. It can be used safely without damaging the vehicle’s onboard electronics.

Indoor and Outdoor Use

Its weather-resistant housing provides resistance to both indoor and outdoor use. The OptiMate 2 DUO is designed to operate in harsh conditions, with a minimum operating temperature of -40 °C.

Low Power Consumption

Thanks to its energy-saving technology, the charger’s consumption in standby mode remains below 0.5 W.

This low consumption makes it particularly well-suited for the ongoing maintenance of a battery during the winter or during long periods of inactivity.
