Ferodo 4003 FCP809C brake pads use the FER4003 compound, identified by the suffix “C” in the part number. The FCP809 shape is suitable for use on a variety of vehicles and racing brake calipers, with front or rear mounting depending on the configuration.

The FER4003 is designed for light to moderate racing conditions, particularly in single-seaters, as well as for certain occasional rally applications. Ferodo specifies an average coefficient of friction of 0.46 over a range of operating temperatures from 100 to 550 °c.

This compound features a short break-in period, good bite, and a clean release from the brakes, with minimal residual friction. The choice of brake pads must take into account thermal loads and the balance of the braking system.

Mounting and Use

Before ordering, verify the shape and sizes of the pads, the caliper type, and the mounting position. The listed applications correspond to the configurations specified by Ferodo Racing. On tuned or modified vehicles, the actual installation must be verified.

Inspect the condition of the rotors and calipers, then follow Ferodo Racing’s mounting and break-in instructions. The FER4003 compound is intended for racing only and is not suitable for on-road use.
