This Powersprint sound level meter is IEC61672 and 1 CLASS2 compliant.

The permissible exhaust noise level for motor vehicles has been continuously reduced over the past years. On the one hand, noise emission regulations have become increasingly strict, on the other hand, the number of diesel and turbo-diesel engines in vehicles, which emit very little exhaust noise anyway, has been increasing more and more. Modern diesel vehicles often have stationary noises of about 70 dB and driving noises just above that. Gasoline engines are often idling with 75 dB to over 90 dB significantly higher. For older vehicles, the value specified at the time of manufacture applies. In youngtimers, idle noise of over 90 dB and drive noise of over 83 dB are not uncommon.
