The Cartek OBD2 Shift Light is a shift shifting indicator that plugs directly into the vehicle’s OBD2 port. Its 8 multicolored LEDs light up progressively based on engine revs to signal to the driver when to shift into high-gear, according to the programmed thresholds.

It comes with a 1.5-meter OBD2 cable and requires no additional wiring. When powered on, the system automatically searches for a compatible communication protocol. When the engine is turned off, it enters standby mode to limit battery consumption.

A sequence tailored to engine revs

The start and end RPMs for each sequence can be adjusted using the button on the back of the unit. Programming can be done with the engine off by entering the desired values, or with the engine running according to the procedure in the manual.

The driver has access to 6 lighting sequences—linear or converging—as well as two adjustable brightness levels for daytime and nighttime use.

Compatibility and Installation

The presence of an OBD2 port alone does not guarantee compatibility: the vehicle’s protocol must be supported. The shift light must be the only device connected to this port. It does not work with an OBD2 splitter and cannot be connected directly to the vehicle’s electrical system.

Install the unit within the driver’s field of vision. For bottom mounting, ensure the screws are driven no deeper than 8 mm. Product intended for racing use.
