Zündkerzen NGK IRIDIUM haben eine Iridiumspitze an der Mittelelektrode und eine Masseelektrode aus Platin. Dies ist die ausgereifteste Technik, die sich auf die Erosions- und Schmelzfestigkeit von Iridium stützt. Eine NGK Iridium-Kerze hält im Durchschnitt doppelt so lange wie eine Standardkerze. Nicht zu verwechseln mit der Produktreihe NGK IX, die nur eine Mittelelektrode aus Platin hat.
