The Cartek Club sequential shift light with 8 multicolored LEDs alerts the driver when the engine is approaching the selected RPM for high-gear shifting. Installed within the driver’s field of vision, it allows the driver to monitor the increase in RPM via a progressive light sequence, without having to constantly watch the rev-counter.

The start and end thresholds of the sequence are configurable with or without the engine running. Six animation modes—linear or converging—allow the display to be customized to the driver’s preferences. Brightness settings are also available for daytime and nighttime use.

Engine revs Signal and Compatibility

The Cartek Club shift light requires an engine revs signal to operate. It accepts an engine revs output from the ECU in the shape of a 5 V or 12 V square wave signal, a rev-counter signal, or a compatible ignition coil signal.

An additional RPM signal filtering setting is available for use in classic cars.

Warning: This shift light is not suitable for engines equipped with older CDI (capacitive discharge) firing systems.

Engine Alarm Function

This version includes an orange strobe light alert to warn the driver of an engine problem, such as overheating or low oil pressure.

This feature requires connection to a compatible sensor, a data acquisition system, or an alarm outlet from the dashboard. The shift light displays the alert transmitted by this equipment; it does not measure temperature or oil pressure on its own.

Installation and Setup

Install the unit within the driver’s field of view, then connect the power supply, ground, and RPM signal according to the Cartek manual. Connect the alarm input if you wish to use this feature.

The button on the back allows you to configure the RPM thresholds, the light sequence, and the brightness. RPM values can be entered with the engine off. For adjustment while the engine is running, Cartek provides a procedure requiring the engine to be revved to only 50% of the maximum reference RPM.
