Cartek Club Gear Indicator with 8-LED Shift Light

The Cartek Club gear indicator with shift light combines two pieces of information in a compact unit: the selected gearbox ratio and the approaching RPM threshold for shifting into high-gear. It allows the driver to view this information on the dashboard while driving in a rally or on a racetrack.

The current gear is displayed on a 7-segment digital display, with a choice of seven colors. At the top, the shift light’s 8 multicolored LEDs light up progressively according to the configured RPM thresholds. Six lighting sequences and day/night brightness settings allow you to customize the display.

Gear engagement detection

The Club version offers two operating modes:

• Calculation of the RPM-to-speed ratio: The device compares engine revs to vehicle speed after a gear-learning phase.
• Reading from a position sensor: on a sequential shift mechanism equipped with a compatible sensor, the analog input identifies the gear based on the measured voltage.

The device can be used with H-pattern mechanical transmissions, sequential shift mechanisms, DSG, or automatic gearboxes, provided the necessary signals are available and the appropriate configuration is performed.

Shift Light Settings

The start and end thresholds for the sequence are configurable with or without the engine running. The rear button allows you to enter RPM values and select the shift light animation.

A RPM signal filtering setting is available for classic car applications. The brightness of the gear indicator and the shift light can be adjusted separately for day and night.

Installation and Compatibility

Mount the indicator within the driver’s field of view using two M3 bolts from below or from the rear. For mounting from below, the maximum bolt depth is 8 mm.

Connect the power supply, ground, and signals required for the selected detection method, in accordance with the Cartek manual. Then perform the gear or sensor position calibration.

This model is not suitable for engines equipped with older CDI (capacitive discharge) firing systems.
