Cartek X-Club Electronics Cut-Out Device Kit with External Button

The Cartek X-Club Electronic Cut-Out Device Kit with External Button is designed for competition vehicles equipped with a production-based engine—either stock or slightly modified—up to 3 liters and a maximum of 6 cylinders. It includes the cut-out device and its interior and exterior controls, with a choice of a red or blue external button.

The X-Club performs two functions: it shuts off the engine and then disconnects the battery from all electrical circuits. Its electronics design includes protection against power surges caused by generator shutdown, as well as diagnostics via an RGB LED indicator.

How the Cut-Out Device Works

When activated, the device first cuts off power to the circuit necessary for engine operation, such as the firing or an ECU control circuit. It then disconnects the battery’s negative terminal from the vehicle’s ground.

This sequence allows the engine to be shut down before the battery is isolated, ensuring that the generator does not continue to power the electrical equipment.

Mounting and Connection

Install the cut-out device near the battery, ensuring a proper electrical connection to the chassis ground. Be sure to connect the engine shut-off function in accordance with the Cartek manual and observe the 10 A limit for this outlet.

On a vehicle equipped with a generator, simply disconnecting the battery is not enough to stop the engine: connecting the engine shut-off function is essential.
