The VDO oil temperature sensor with an M14×150 connection is used to measure oil temperature. It operates within the range of +50 to 150 °C and outputs a resistive signal intended for a compatible gauge.

The outlet range of 322.8 to 18.6 ? must match the electrical specifications of the gauge or indicator being used. An identical display range alone is not sufficient to guarantee compatibility. The 130 °C ± 3 °C alarm contact provides a separate function from the measurement, designed to activate a compatible warning light.
