The VDO cooling fluid temperature sensor with an M14×150 connection is used to measure cooling fluid temperature. It operates within a range of +40 to 120 °C and outputs a resistive signal intended for a compatible temperature indicator.

The outlet range of 287.4 to 22.7 ? must match the electrical characteristics of the gauge or indicator being used. An identical display range alone is not sufficient to guarantee compatibility. The 100 °C ± 3 °C alarm contact provides a separate function from the measurement, designed to control a compatible warning light.
